Fishing Miami Dade County, Florida

Miami-Dade County is one of Florida's most diverse fishing destinations, combining world-class urban inshore fishing with quick access to the Gulf Stream and the northern Florida Keys. Biscayne Bay — a massive, relatively shallow estuary — holds resident Bonefish on its sandy flats (rare this far north), Tarpon staging under bridges in spring, and year-round Snook along the mangrove edges. The Intracoastal Waterway from Aventura to Miami Beach holds Snook, Snapper, and Jack Crevalle on every bridge and dock structure. Nearshore, the reefs off Miami hold Yellowtail Snapper, Mangrove Snapper, Grouper, and Cobia, with the Gulf Stream sitting just 3–4 miles offshore — some of the closest blue water in Florida. Offshore fishing from Miami regularly produces Mahi, Wahoo, Sailfish, Marlin, and Tuna. This is a county where a single day could mean tailing Bonefish in the morning and a blue-water Sailfish in the afternoon.
