Palm Beach County is a powerhouse for both inshore and offshore fishing, anchored by Lake Worth Lagoon, the Loxahatchee River, and some of the best nearshore reef fishing on Florida's East Coast. The Lake Worth Inlet funnels enormous numbers of baitfish and game fish — Snook, Tarpon, Jacks, and Bluefish pile up here on the tide, and the inlet's dock lights are legendary for nighttime Snook fishing. Blueline reefs and ledges close to shore hold Grouper, Snapper, and Cobia year-round, with the Gulf Stream running closer to shore here than almost anywhere on the East Coast. That proximity means Mahi, Wahoo, Sailfish, and Kingfish are accessible even on smaller boats. Pompano and Spanish Mackerel show on the reefs and nearshore in winter and spring, and Cobia migrate through in good numbers. The Loxahatchee and Intracoastal offer productive Snook and Redfish fishing in protected waters.
