20 fishing spots · Florida
Pinellas County is the western finger of Tampa Bay, offering unmatched access to some of Florida's most diverse inshore fishing. St. Pete Beach, Pass-A-Grille, and the barrier islands provide miles of productive surf and nearshore fishing for Spanish Mackerel, Pompano, and Whiting in fall and spring. Boca Ciega Bay is a productive inshore estuary with Snook, Redfish, and Seatrout on the flats. The Sunshine Skyway Bridge is one of the most famous fishing structures in Florida — Sheepshead pack the concrete fenders in winter, while Snook, Spanish Mackerel, and Cobia move through on the tide. Johns Pass, Blind Pass, and Bunce's Pass are all productive inlet fisheries. The grass flats south of St. Pete — near Tierra Verde and Shell Key — are among Tampa Bay's most consistent Redfish and Seatrout spots.
